What We Do
Recovery Village Wicklow
Wicklow Mental Health Association are instrumental in establishing the Recovery Village Wicklow project managed by the HSE based at the Newcastle Hospital Campus.
Wicklow Mental Health Association provided in excess of €26,000 of funding and resources to develop the facility.
The Recovery Village provides a place where those experiencing mental health challenges meet for social activity, creativity, exercise, physical activity and education.
The Recovery Village caters for regular interests, activities and courses to enhance their quality of life.
Woodlands For Health
In 2012 the Woodlands For Health programme was developed by Coillte (The Irish Forestry Board) in partnership with Wicklow Mental Health Association, Mental Health Ireland and the HSE/Wicklow Mental Health Service.
The programme was evaluated by the HSE and University College Dublin, they found that participants improved their mood by 75 per cent and sleep by 66 per cent; in addition, their thoughts of suicide declined by 82 per cent.
In 2026 Wicklow Mental Health Association, Healthy Wicklow, Wicklow Rural & Sports Partnership and, Mental Health Ireland collaborated to provide a woodland-based programme with guided walks at Coillte forest trails in Wicklow.
The programme is for adults availing of the services provided by the HSE/Recovery Village based at the Newcastle Hospital Campus.
Rotary Club of Wicklow provided financial support to make this programme possible.

Research & Development Of Video Content
Wicklow Mental Health Association research and develop Video content for this website from all leading lecturers and organisations in the mental health sphere.
Kildare Wicklow Education Board provided financing to make this possible.
Library Books
Wicklow Mental Health Association have chosen, purchased and provided a range of Mental Health and Well-Being books which are available in the Health & Well-being section on the 1st Floor of Wicklow Library.
The aim of the Library Project is to promote and nurture mental health through reading.
Wicklow Bridge Club and Neptune Bridge Club kindly donated funds to make this possible.

Wicklow Mental Health Association provide a range of Mental Health Ireland’s self-help booklets which are available from:
